CHAPTER 14. TRAFFICCHAPTER 14. TRAFFIC\Article 2. Local Traffic Regulations

(a)   It is unlawful for any person to park a truck with a registered gross weight of over 12,000 pounds, or a bus, truck, tractor, road tractor or semi-trailer, regardless of weight, within a residential area within the City of Mound City, Kansas except as follows:

(1)   For loading or unloading merchandise, furniture or other goods, a truck may be so parked for as long as is reasonably necessary,

(2)   In case such a vehicle is incapacitated or unable to move, it may be so parked for as long as is reasonably necessary to remove the same.

(b)   Notwithstanding the provisions of the foregoing section, a truck or road tractor may be parked, if detached from its trailer or load on private property, with the consent of the owner of said property, if the motor be immediately turned off.

(c)   Any persons convicted of a violation of this section shall be punished on a first conviction by a fine of not more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00). and for a second or subsequent conviction by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).

(a)   The maximum speed is, and no person shall operate a vehicle at a speed in excess of, twenty (20) miles per hour on the following designated streets of Mound City, Kansas:

From the intersection of 7th Street and Locust Street to the intersection of 4th Street and Locust Street

From the intersection of 5th Street and Walnut Street to the South city limit on 5th Street

From the intersection of 6th Street and Walnut Street to the South city limit on 6th Street

(b)   The penalty for violation of this section shall be as set forth in the Standard Traffic Ordinance as enacted in the City of Mound City.

(a)   Parking of vehicles is prohibited on either side of Chestnut Street between 7th Street and 9th Street, except the East 200 feet and the West 300 feet of the said portion of Chestnut Street.

(b)   The penalty for violation of this section shall be as set forth like no parking violations in the Standard Traffic Ordinance as adopted in the City of Mound City.
