The mayor is hereby granted the authority to designate emergency vehicles, including the right to designate any vehicle driven by person designated by the mayor as emergency vehicles. Any time during a fire or other public emergency any such vehicles have the right-of-way over all other vehicles and all other vehicles shall yield right-of-way accordingly. To the extent practicable, the mayor shall require that any such designated vehicle be equipped with a red light mounted in such a way as to be visible to vehicles ahead.

(a) No U-tum shall be made on Main Street in the city where Main Street is intersected by Carpenter Street and by Grove Street.
(b) Intersections on Main Street where U-tums may not be made shall be designated by clearly posted signs.
(c) The governing body of the city shall have the authority upon motion to designate such other intersections on Main Street as the council may designate by motion or resolution and should any additional intersections be designated by the governing body, the same shall be marked with signs clearly indicating that no U-turns are to be made at such intersection and when so marked it shall be against the law to make a U-tum at such designated intersections.

(a) No vehicle with a gross weight of more than 36,000 lbs. shall be allowed on the following residential streets in the City of Chase:
(1) East Carpenter Street from Main Street to Ash Street.
(2) East Grove Street from Main Street through the 600 block of Ash Street.
(3) East Grove Street from Main Street through the 600 block of Oak Street.
(b) A violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of up to $500.00.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to park any commercial motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, semi-trailer, or truck-tractor as those terms are defined in the Standard Traffic Ordinance upon any street, avenue, alley or public right of way within the City limits.
(b) This section shall not apply to those situations in which a vehicle above defined is loading or unloading at a residence or business establishment.
(c) Any person or entity violating this section shall be deemed guilty of a traffic infraction and shall be subject to the penalties set forth in Article 20 of the Standard Traffic Ordinance as adopted by the City of Chase, Kansas.
