Article 1. Building Permits
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation to construct, relocate or add to a building within the limits of the City of Quinter without first having received a signed, approved permit from the Quinter City Council.

Building Permits are available at City Hall in Quinter. The Public Works Director of the City of Quinter, Kansas, shall review the submitted building permit, assuring all current regulations are met, sign and pass the permit on to the City Council for approval on record. Once approved, the City Clerk or Public Works Director will immediately notify the applicant of approval or denial.

The property owner shall pay to the City of Quinter the following applicable fee:
Each building permit shall have a $25 fee plus $1.00 per $1,000 of project value. Total building permit fee shall not exceed $250.

Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall be fined not less than two times the actual building permit fee and not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each day of non-compliance. The fee will begin calculating after seven (7) calendar days from the receipt of the Notice of Non-Compliance letter. The fine will accumulate until a valid signed permit, accompanied with proper payment of building permit fee, is received in City Hall. Fines may be waived by the passing of a motion by the City Council.
